Kontah Kristang: An audio course for beginners in Kristang
Beng papiah kung nus! Kristang, or Malacca Creole Portuguese, is the endangered heritage language of the Portuguese Eurasian community in Singapore and Malacca. Join Anirudh Krishnan, Frances Loke Wei, Fuad Johari and Kevin Martens Wong as they take you through an elementary course in this beautiful 500-year-old language, and learn a little about the history and traditions of the Portuguese Eurasians as well! Kontah Kristang is part of the Kodrah Kristang revitalization initiative and is presented by Anirudh Krishnan, Frances Loke Wei, Fuad Johari and Kevin Martens Wong, a group of passionate Kristang learners and proto-linguists. The script is written by Kevin Martens Wong, and our love for Kristang, as always, is thanks to Joan Marbeck, Sara Santa Maria, Stefanie Pillai, Bernard Mesenas Chua, and Maureen and Peter Martens. Thanks for listening and learning -- as we say in Kristang, mutu grandi merseh!
