About Me

Dr. Emmanuel Ngué Um is a linguist and a language activist, and Associate Professor of African Languages and Linguistics at the University of Yaoundé I. Dr. Ngué Um is also the Director of the Archive of Languages and Oral Resources of Africa (ALORA). He is currently leading a project of voice data collection for Machine Learning in Basaa, using the Common Voice infrastructure. With his PhD student, he is also working on a project to design a rule-based machine translation system between Ewondo and French.
