The Political Communication, Journalism, and Democracy Research Group (POLCOM-GRP) from the Department of Communication at Universitat Pompeu Fabra is organizing the I International Congress on Communication, Technology, and Minority Languages in collaboration with the Consell General d’Aran, the Mountain Development Centre (HÈPIC), the General Secretariat for the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) and the UNESCO Chair in Linguistic Policies for Multilingualism.
We welcome contributions related to the following themes and topics:
1. AI and new technologies and the creation of audiovisual content in minority languages
2. Viability of journalistic formats in minority languages
3. Social networks and viral content in minority languages
- Abstract length: 500 words maximum
- Format: file including title, authors and their affiliation, abstract, and a brief biography (maximum 100 words per author)

- Presentation formats: Academic papers in oral presentation format are accepted and will be organized into thematic sessions. Additionally, alternative proposals suggesting creative formats, which may include audio, video, images, text, and multimedia resources, are welcome.

- Congress dates: November 27 to 28, 2025, in the Val d'Aran.
- Abstract submission period: July 22 to September 30, 2025.
