The Unique Surma People of Ethiopia Wear Lip Plates!
A practice common among the tribes of the Surma people (including the Baale), is the insertion of a clay plate into the bottom lip of young girls and women. A traditional post-wedding celebration is shown further on in the clip, in which the people can be heard singing as they dance and clap in a loose circle.
