/Navajo Word of the Day - "Power Outage"
Inspired by today's events, I figured this would be a useful phrase to learn. Earlier the electricity went out! So the Navajo Word of the Day is: "da'neeztsiz," which means, "the electricity went out." The sentence used for today's word is: "Nihits'áá' da'neeztsiz. Áko béésh t'áá bí nitsíkeesí yaa ádzaago dah hidiiyá," which means, "The electricity went out. So, the internet went down." The breakdown: Nihits'áá': away from us Da'neeztsiz: the lights went out Áko: so Béésh t'áá bí nitsíkeesí: Internet Yaa ádzaago: went down Dah hidiiyá: got hung up or tied up Let me know what you think. I'm trying to show the continued utility of the Navajo language. Enjoy!
