This video is actually the lyrics to the famous hymnal, "The Lord's Prayer," translated into the Navajo language. It is sung to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne," similar to the gospel song called "The Millenium Prayer," by Cliff Richard. A large portion of the lyrics of the Millenium Prayer come from the Lord's Prayer. This song was actually recorded earlier today at Tsaile Community Church, as the TCC Worship Team was preparing for the New Year's service. We were practicing the song the Millenium Prayer and wanted to sing the Navajo lyrics of "The Lord's Prayer" instead to see if it would work. It worked for us & I figured I'd post it in case any one else was interested. It does seem fitting to merge this well-known New Year's song with a prayer, to serve both as a praise offering & prayer to God to begin a new year. Thanks to Sam Morris, Jr., who played the drums, & my cousin Jared Toledo who played the guitar for this song! Enjoy & Nizhónígo Nee Nínáádoohah (Happy New Year)!
