SILCC’s mission is to promote literacy in indigenous languages and to preserve indigenous languages in the West African country Sierra Leone.

We are currently launching a pilot program to teach students to read in their first language of Limba in Kambia district, Sierra Leone.

We are also launching a pilot program to teach students to read and write in the endangered Mani (Bullom) language in the Samu Chiefdom, Kambia District. We are also working to further preserve, promote, and revitalize the Mani Language by working with community members in villages in Samu.
