Since 2013, the community has been working with SIL International and Nepali-language NGOs on orthography development, a Syuba-Nepali-English dictionary, and a website with recordings and information shared by Syuba speakers.

Speakers' Attitude
Many identify as ethnically Tibetan with Nepali citizenship, and related but different from Yolmo. Codeswitching is not uncommon, though unmixed language is ideal. Most surveyed Syuba speakers love their language and find it most beneficial. There is strong enthusiasm and participation in language project workshops, recording, literacy and dictionary development.
