At Kidz Club educational centre in Modbury, South Australia, Language Specialist Stuart A Blair implements a pioneering Linguistic Program centred on the revival of Barngarla, an Endangered Indigenous Australian language with no remaining native speakers.
Developed collaboratively with the Barngarla People and Professor Ghil’ad Zuckermann, the program contributes to Revivalistics by engaging children in foundational aspects of Barngarla oracy, emergent orthography, and cultural narratives.
Employing multimodal pedagogies, including sequential art, storytelling, song, and performative language activities, the program promotes early linguistic awareness while situating Barngarla within broader discourses of linguistic anthropology, cultural sustainability, and intergenerational transmission.
