Description

Gawri is one of the 70 languages of Pakistan, spoken in the northern parts of the country. It is spoken in the Kohistani (mountainous) areas of district Swat and Upper Dir in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KP). 
 
This website is dedicated to the language and culture of the Gawri people. We will upload stories, videos, audios and pictures of beautiful sceneries, people, cultural items, artifacts and the work Gawri Community Development Programme (GCDP) is doing in this regard. 
 
The Gawri Community Development Programme (GCDP) is a local non-profit, non-political, officially registered organization working for community development in the Gawri-speaking areas through the implementation of education and health projects, as well as through the promotion, preservation, and documentation of the Gawri community's rich linguistic and cultural heritage.
