About Me

Dr. Madoka Hammine works at Meio University in Okinawa, Japan. She received her doctorate degree from the faculty of education at University of Lapland in Finland in 2020. Her doctoral research focused on minoritized (endangered) language education in two contexts, Indigenous languages in Finland and in Japan. Her research interests include (but are not limited to) heritage language teaching and learning, Indigenous language reclamation, and language policy & planning. She also likes to sing, dance, and listen to music.
