Language The outstanding specification of Larestan county, and its center Lar is the people's dialect. The Larian dialect is much more like an independent language rather than a variation of Persian. The vocabulary have some words in common with Persian, but the grammar seems very different from ordinary Persian language. There's a belief that this dialect is one of oldest dialects that have survived through the impact of Arabic on old Persian language.Larestani is derived from middle Persian more common known as Pahlavi. Pahlavi is also mother to modern Persian as well as all other existing dialects included in the southwest branch of the Iranian language group.
