"The numbers above proposed by Ethnologue 1999 (27,000) and UDSM LoT project 2009 (41,290) seem to be closer to the population of ethnic group. The population of speakers and that of ethnic group are rarely distinguishable especially for Bantu speakers... No creditable number of speakers is available."

It means Bende has the lower status in their indigenous area. Not popular in larger cities at all."
