/Navajo Word of the Day - "Popcorn"
Since today was Popcorn Lover's Day, I figured a fitting word of the day would be "popcorn." To say popcorn in Navajo, you say "naadá̜á̜' dilchxoshí." The breakdown: Naadá̜á̜': corn Dilchxoshí: the one that pops Some parts of the reservation use the word "diltáłii" for popcorn, which basically means "the one that pops." As an added Navajo Word of the Day, I introduce the word "hanííbááz," which means "full moon." Today, in the Jewish month of Adar the holiday of Purim is celebrated. Purim is basically a celebration, commemorating Esther, the Jewish Queen of Persia, who used her role to save the Jewish people living in Persia from death. This date occurs in the month of Adar when the full moon rises. Enjoy and happy learning! :-)
