Until recently, Boruca language (Costa Rica) was declared extinct. Nonetheless, efforts made by the Boruca community, the Costa Rican Ministry of Education, the School system in Boruca, and universities (Universidad de Costa Rica, University of Bergen, Norway) have resulted in having a new wave of young speakers.
