Beng prendih kung nus! Kristang, or Malacca Creole Portuguese, is the endangered heritage language of the Portuguese-Eurasian community in Singapore and Melaka. Kriseh Kristang, or Grow, Kristang, helps learners remember the words and vocabulary of this beautiful 500-year-old language. Built on the powerful and popular Memrise language learning application, Kriseh Kristang is presented by heritage Kristang speaker Kevin Michael Sim and native speaker Linda Longue, who speak each word or phrase shown to learners, and give a sense of its pronunciation and variation. The Memrise system then helps the learner remember each word or phrase through spaced repetition, and allows learners to decide how much they want to learn by setting their own daily learning goals -- and with the Memrise application available for web, iPhone and Android operating systems, they can also decide when and where. Not sure about how each word works grammatically? Each unit of Kriseh Kristang corresponds to six units of Kontah Kristang, with each Kriseh unit also including some additional vocabulary not presented in the audio course. Kriseh Kristang is presented by native Kristang speakers Kevin Michael Sim and Linda Longue, and developed by Kevin Martens Wong. It is part of the Kodrah Kristang revitalization initiative. Mutu grandi merseh for helping Kristang grow!
