/Navajo PHRASE of the Day "What Do You Call This?"

A request was made to me by MrPaulMaine, asking me to say, "What do you call this (OBJECT) in Navajo?" In case others out there want to practice their Navajo with a fluent speaker, this is how you say it... "(OBJECT) éí haash wolyé dinék'ehjígo?" The breakdown: OBJECT: (In the video example, I say "cell phone") Éí: it Haash (what is it) wolyé (named): what is it called? Dinék'ehjígo: In Navajo The "-sh" in "haash" makes the entire statement a question. In case you want to ask in another manner, such as asking "What do you call THIS in Navajo?" You would say, "Díí haash wolyé dinék'ehjígo?" This phrase doesn't specify an object. The breakdown: Díí: this (indicated object) Haash (what is it) wolyé (named): what is it called? Dinék'ehjígo: In Navajo Enjoy and thanks for making a request on how to say something! :-D
