Chopaka Immersion House: kʷu‿nłəqʷcin (we speak clearly)

The third of three videos from spəpƛmsalqʷ, Chopaka BC, Nsyilxcn immersion house. Five adult women lived in this immersion house for 5 months, studying Nsyilxcn 6 hours per day. This 6 minute film includes footage in the house, studying, and an interview, in Nsyilxcn about our progress in the house. After completing 4 of the 6 Paul Creek textbooks, we are now low-intermediate speakers, or approximately n'łəqʷcin (speaking clearly, or clear voiced). We are proud of this achievement and are grateful to the Paul Creek Language Association (see interiorsalish.com) for making this possible, with their textbooks, curriculum, guidance, our Elder Sʕamtíc'aʔ (Sarah Peterson), and their comprehensive vision to achieve advanced proficiency within two years of study. This film produced by Sʔímlaʔxʷ (mkj) as part of her PhD research at UBC-Okanagan. way' kʷu‿kʷukstxʷ!
